‘Make Oyo-Iseyin road your constituency project’, Akande Charges Oke-Ogun federal lawmakers

Ado-Awaye-A US-based indigene of Oke Ogun, Oyo state, Dr. Dare Akande, has charged lawmakers from the Zone to come up with a strategy to harmonize and consolidate their constituency project funds through the Office of the SGF and channel it towards the rehabilitation/reconstruction of Oyo- Iseyin road.

In a release made available to ametrocopy.com in Ibadan, Dr. Akande who decried the present state of the Oyo-Iseyin road expressed concern about the magnitude of the negative impact and untold hardship that the state of the road has brought to the people in Oyo North Senatorial constituency.

According to Akande, the state of the Iseyin-Oyo road has sub-optimized great investment opportunities in; Tourism, Mining, and Agriculture with families distancing themselves from taking a risk of visiting their ancestral homes due to the known agonies and difficulties of navigating the road.

Dr. Akande said since there was no provision for the rehabilitation of the road in the 2020 budget, the National Assembly members in the zone, Hon. Shina Peller, Hon. Olumide Ojerinde, Hon Olatunbosun, Sen. Fatai Buhari (representing Oyo North Senatorial District) and Honorable Akeem Adeyemi to call a town hall meeting aimed at informing the constituents the status of their efforts.

He also appealed to the lawmakers to liaise with Senate committee chairman and House committee chairman on Works and Housing to make provision for the Oyo-Iseyin road rehab/reconstruction project in the 2020 appropriation.
