LAGOS – The Nigeria Police Force has detained a member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Hon. Shina Peller at Moroko Police station, Lagos State.
The Police have also shut down a popular night club Quilox, belonging to the Honorable.
This was contained in a statement released by Honourable Peller’s Press Secretary, Mr. Kola Popoola, where he called on the Nigeria Police to immediately release the lawmaker.
According to the release, Hon. Shina Peller was at Moroko police station to bail some of Club Quilox’s customers who had allegedly parked on the road during a show at the Club.
The statement further said prior to the kickoff of the annual 36hours non-stop show at the Quilox club, Hon. Peller had informed the concerned Lagos traffic authorities to avoid unnecessary traffic gridlock.
However, the police allegedly harassed the lawmaker on his arrival at the station seizing all his phones.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said Peller’s club, Quilox, was fond of obstructing the free flow of traffic.
He explained that the lawmaker had been warned many times, but he refused to do anything about it.
He said after some of his customers’ vehicles caused gridlock on Monday, the police intervened by towing three of the vehicles.
Bala claimed that Peller mobilized thugs, invaded the station and forcefully removed the vehicles.
