God All I Want For Christmas Is To Meet Aliko Dangote
God I know you are ready for me
That’s why you appeared in my dream
Giving me a blank cheque to ask for what I want before Christmas
I do not need to think before answering
That’s why I said I want to meet Aliko Dangote.
Lord, I know I am not asking for too much
It is my heartfelt desire for a long time
I have not chosen Mr. President for a known reason
None of the Governors are itching me to see
I want to meet Aliko Dangote
If you have asked if President Trump is on my mind
I won’t waste time to tell you, No
If you had brought Obama in my dream
I won’t trade seeing Aliko Dangote for anything
Even if the door of Aso Rock Villa is wide open
I will not consider that as a second option
All I have imprinted in my heart
Is that I want to meet Aliko Dangote
God I don’t want a trailer full of fowls
Neither do I want a truck full of Dangote Rice
To what extent can all these satisfy my soul
It can only be a temporary remedy for hunger
All I want as Christmas gift oh Lord!
Is to meet Aliko Dangote in person
You even offered me Ministerial appointment
I said even if it’s to replace Fashola I won’t agree
To be a Senator is not my priority
Neither do I crave to be called Honourable Ajibola
My greatest desire for now, Is that I want to meet Aliko Dangote.
It will be a visit of the Century!
Yes, which will forever change a long written story
Dominating major newspaper headlines in the country
I won’t mind even if it will make me cry
All I must do is to just try
That meeting will make my tears dry
All I want is to meet Aliko Dangote.
About the author of the poem
Osunjimi Ajibola Oluwabusayo hails from Abeokuta, Ogun state, from the family of Pastor Ebenezer Olufidipo Osunjimi.
His leg impairment was a result of wrongful administration injection when he was a baby. Yet, he never allowed that impairment to defeat the strong will and purpose for a better life that he craved for.
In 2009, he joined the prestigious Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) as the first Documentation Officer. His tenacity and brilliance made the Resident Curator, Sir Martins Akanbiemu to name him the Encyclopedia of the OOPL museum, the reason being that he has the Artefact and graphics number for over 10, 000 items in his head.
He was instrumental to the success recorded at the Library before he resigned in 2015 to further advance his chosen career in media and perception management.
The young man in his late thirties has shown beyond every doubt that disability only exists in words and not in reality.
