‘Amend the constitution to create roles for traditional rulers’- Chief Adegoke charges lawmakers as Olubadan elevates 14 Chiefs

IBADAN – The need to amend the constitution to create roles for traditional rulers has been stressed.

The Ajia Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke stressed the need for the amendment while addressing journalists after he was elevated by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Oguguniso I, from Mogaji Abose to Ajia Balogun.

Chief Adegoke who is the Executive Director, OES Energy Service Limited, said traditional rulers should be given more roles to play in governance to the people.

He expressed his delight at the elevation while thanking the Monarch for counting him worthy of the new post.

Chief Adegoke promised to use his new position to bring developments to the city of Ibadan and Oyo state in general.

Among those elevated by the Olubadan are Chief Wasiu Ajimobi, Chief Mikail Orogunmodi, Chief Hammed Lanihun, Chief Babajide Ayoade and Chief Dauda Gbadamosi.

Others are Chief Lateef Akintola, Chief William Oyekola, Chief Oluyinka Akande, Chief Olufemi Olubota, Alh Nureni Akanbi, and Alh Kayode Kadelu.

Also on the list are Chief Wasiu Olasunkanmi and Alh Monsur Arulogun.
