A federal Commissioner with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, Hon Bimbo Kolade, has described the death of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State and Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as a personal loss that will be difficult if not impossible to recover from.
Kolade, in an emotion-laden tribute, said he had hoped the late Ajimobi, who he described as a father, mentor, and champion would scale through the ordeal and beat death.
According to Kolade, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oyo state, and indeed Nigeria has lost an enigma, an illustrious and industrious son, and the builder of a new Oyo state.
“My family and I had prayed fervently that he would survive this just as he overcame many storms of life, even in roads less traveled. He will be sorely missed by family, friends, and even our great party especially. His unique personality traits and leadership style will linger in the History books of our dear state for generations to come. This is a great loss to me’.
Hon Kolade, who served in different capacities throughout the 8-year tenure of former Governor Ajimobi, recalled how the late ex-Governor took him up under his wings and helped in building robust political credentials long before their days at the All Nigeria Peoples’ Party, ANPP.
“Even before our days in the ANPP, he was a shining light that paved the way for most of us. A mentor by any standard, over the years he has occupied a special place in our hearts which is now void. May Almighty grant repose to his soul.
