Executive members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Atiba Local government Area, Oyo state has passed a vote of confidence on the Party Chairman, Alh. Muideen Tijani Oyedele and the caretaker chairman of Atiba Local government, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi, saying Oyedele and Akinwunmi are undoubtedly good examples of accountability and good leadership.
In a letter written to governor Seyi Makinde, PDP state chairman, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, and state executives, signed by all executive members of the party in Atiba local government, and made available to Ametrocopy, they stated that the leadership style of Muideen Oyedele is of interest and welfare of party and its members while the administrative leadership of Akinkunmi is best for the people of Atiba, Oyo town, and the party.
The executives frowned at some bad elements within the party who in their selfish interest are going around labeling Hon. Muideen Oyedele and Akinkunmi as sectional and selective in dealing with the party members in the local government.
They also took time to outline the wonderful and meritorious work which Hon. Akinkunmi has done in less than one year as a caretaker chairman of Atiba Local government and the accountability prowess of Alh. Muideen Oyedele, as the party chairman.
” We the undersigned Executives members of the People’s Democratic (PDP) in Atiba local government, use this medium to pass our vote of confidence on the leadership style of the party Chairman, ALH. MUIDEEN TIJANI OYEDELE and the Caretaker Chairman of Atiba Local Government, HON. IBRAHIM SULAIMAN AKINKUNMI. It came as a rude shock that some disgruntled elements for their selfish interest alleged the duo of the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani, and the Caretaker Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi of lopsidedness in dealing with the party affairs in Atiba Local Government of Oyo State.
” Sir, we want to unequivocally express our mind that the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani OYEDELE and the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi have our support and they will ever have it, anytime they have the opportunity to lead for their wonderful performance. Through the leadership of the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele, the benefits which used to be cornered by some selected few greedy people, reach even ordinary members of the party unlike before.
” For the first-ever time, during the Covid19 pandemic, every single executive member got his own package from the Council Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi, through the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele. Besides, many floor members were also beneficiaries (There are photo and video evidence).
” For the first-ever time, Ramadan packages were distributed and every single executive member got his/her own. A bag of beans was given to each ward for floor members to distribute. It was facilitated by the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele (There are photo and video evidence).
” In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, all ward executive members were invited for iftar (break), by the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi. A Ward per day.
” Each local executive member was given Chicken for the Ramadan Sallah by the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi. Also facilitated by the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele.
” During the Ileya Sallah, the Caretaker Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi through the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele distributed over ten Rams to leaders across the ten wards in Atiba Local Government with bags of rice in support of the ones sent by the State Government.
To our knowledge, the Caretaker Chairman, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi has never failed to remit 10% of his salary to the party.
” Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the Caretaker Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi organized a Free CBT training for our students in Atiba, all local executive members were mobilized to Federal College of Education, Special, Oyo (SPED) CBT centre and were well remunerated. ” During grading of our roads, the party was informed and mobilized even to villages. They were well renumerated (Photo and Video evidences available)
” When we started dredging of water paths liable to flooding, the party was informed and mobilized to the sites.
” The Caretaker Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi commissioned three boreholes in our villages, through the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele, the executive members were mobilized and renumerated ( Photos and Video available).
” The Caretaker Chairman did agricultural empowerment, from which the majority of the party members got slots and were well renumerated.
” The Caretaker Chairman, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi renovated two blocks of classrooms in two Schools. The workmanships were drawn from among the party members, Carpenters, Bricklayers, Painters, etc.
” The Caretaker Chairman, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi has started some repair works on our drainages (retain walls). The workmanship we’re also drawn from amongst the party members. And so on.
” One can now reason for a better way of leading the party. Sir, we are not defending petitions as we are not the alleged parties. It came to our notice that petition writers alleged the party Chairman and the Council of;
(I) appointing ad-hoc staff whose approval has not been sought from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
(Ii) appointing house to house enumerator which was none business of the party Chairman nor the Council Chairman.
(Iii) distribution of NDE forms of the Federal Government of Nigeria, allegedly given to cronies, despite the fact that over 65% of the ward executive members got the forms at the Local Government.
” Sir, we have to acquaint you with the fact the disgruntled and the selfish elements will never tell you. The leadership style in Atiba today, is likened to that of the People’s Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde which is business unusual. Some of us have been ever members of this party (PDP), we understand how the selfish ones usually corner the benefits of majority for their personal use.
” The party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele, delivered Ramadan packages sent from the State. No petition! He delivered the Ileya Cattle and many other things, no complain! The petitions writers were just a minority group who wants to cause rancour within the party.
” With these and several other reasons we may not mention, we the undersigned executive members (local and ward) of the party (PDP), Atiba Local Government restate and reemphasize that we are solidly in support of the leadership style of the party Chairman, Alhaji Muideen Tijani Oyedele and the Caretaker Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi.
The party exco in the letter also copied Alh. Wasiu Adeleke state secretariat, Chief Sunday Ogunlade, Chief Adetoro, all State Party Leaders, and governor Mankinde’s Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka.
