Many health and fitness professionals have similar ideologies. We are either more interested in bodybuilding and strength training or weight loss and cardiovascular exercises.
Just as good minds think alike, great workout programs are similar. From the elite level athletes to local strength and conditioning coaches, from high impact cardio weight loss programs to low impact, all good training plans share similar features.
For this article, my focus will be on the benefits of exercise and a few programs you can engage in on your own.
BENEFITS OF EXERCISE
Exercise helps improve your mood
Exercise boosts your energy level
Exercise protects the body against health conditions eg it lowers the risk of heart disease, lowers the risk of diabetes, lowers the risk of cancer, makes the skin younger and healthier, boosts mental health, improves bone and muscle health. Etc
EXERCISES YOU CAN ENGAGE IN ON YOUR OWN
Push-ups
Squats
Lunges
Burpees
Sit-ups
You can also engage in other recreational activities to help you keep fit and stay healthy like:
Swimming
Playing tennis
Playing football
Brisk walking
Basketball
Volleyball
And other sporting activities in general.
