The Mogaji Oloyooyo of Idikan Ibadan, Chief Barrister Babatunde Soares has expressed shock and devastation at the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Oguguniso 1, who died in the early hours of today, Sunday, 2nd of January, 2022.


Chief Soares who described the late Monarch as peace-loving said his five-year-long reign was characterized by tranquility and prosperity in the ancient city of Ibadanland.


Chief Soares, who is the former Çhairman, governing council, College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, recalled the Olubadan’s rare wisdom which was often displayed in resolving sensitive issues.


According to the London-trained Financial Consultant, Kabiyesi’s reign brought rapid and positive transformation and development to Ibadanland.


‘ The news of the demise of our father, the  Paramount ruler of Ibadanland the  Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Adetunji Aje Oguguniso 1, was very shocking and devastating. Our solace lies in the fact that Kabiyesi lived a fulfilled life.


Kabiyesi has come, has seen, and has conquered. Nothing can touch him further. He would be sorely missed by Yorubaland in particular and Nigeria in general.
