- Sympathizes with Comrade Ademola Babalola, Family, Friends of the deceased
Ibadan – Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Monday lost one of its dependable and reliable members, a veteran and Pilar of support, Baba Adebisi Adebunmi, who died at 81 years.
Reacting to the news of Baba Adebunmi’s death, Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku, Chairman of Dux FM Station who is also a notable politician based in Oyo State described Baba’s death as shocking, untimely, and a great loss.
He said, “I sympathize with the Oyo State Council Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Ademola Babalola, and all journalists in the state over the sudden death of the Union’s encyclopedia and reliable pillar of strength, Baba Adebisi Adebunmi.
“I got to know Baba Adebunmi through Mr. Debo Adeoye, my media consultant who described the late media icon as his father. My plan for the Baba was to create an office where he would be relaxing and using his wealth of experience to guide the operation of my newly established broadcasting station, Dux FM Radio.
“Our intention was to make him comfortable, active, and healthy throughout his old age, unfortunately, he couldn’t join the headquarters of the radio stations, located at Journalists Village, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway due to his current health status and danger in isolating him from his people here in Ibadan. We concluded on waiting for the commencement of Ibadan station, which he never lived to witness.
“I pray God Almighty grants his departed soul eternal rest and take good care of his loved ones, including the entire Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council in particular,” Asiwaju prayed.
