Oyo Constituents smile as Hon Alarape splashes millions of naira on empowerment

Ibadan – Minority Leader, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Asimiyu Alarape has empowered the constituents of Atiba State Constituency, with cash and items worth millions of naira.

The epoch-making occasion which took place at Oke Olola Primary School, Atiba Local Government, Oyo on Wednesday, March 9 featured the distribution of Items like Grinding Machines, Sprayers, Sewing machines, Generating sets, sandals and cash worth millions of naira to constituents.

Speaking on the purpose of empowerment, the former Speaker disclosed that the distribution and presentation of the items and cash to the selected constituents in ten(10) wards of Atiba State Constituency was the demonstration of willingness to give back to them.

Alarape, who is The All Progressives Congress, APC Leader in the 9th Oyo Assembly stressed the program was in fulfillment of the promises he made during the electioneering and campaign period, adding that it was incumbent upon him to give back to constituents who stood thick and thin for his victory at the poll.

The Oyo-born politician added that he had apart from the items’ distribution facilitated yet to be commissioned Oroki-Gedu-Sabo road to the constituency, maintaining the road’s possibility was jointly orchestrated by him and the member representing Oyo East/West State Constituency, Hon. Qassim Arole.

Eulogising Alarape, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Atiba/Afijio/OyoEast/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi Skimmeh commended the lawmaker for coming up at this material time to organize a programme aimed at eradicating poverty among the selected constituents.

Skimmeh added that the lawmaker’s gesture was a personal commitment aimed at giving back to the constituents who laboured diligently for his victory.

In his own submission, Arole who is also an APC member at the 9th Oyo Assembly lavished encomiums on Alarape for identifying with the constituents on fulfillment of electoral promises.

Arole added that the minority leader had done so much to eradicate poverty and ensure a better life for the people.

APC Chairman in Atiba Local Government, Alhaji Ademola Adelowo maintained that Alarape’s previously held positions of authority had unequivocally assisted him to know how and when to take care of the constituents.

Adelowo reiterated that he was an ex-commissioner, ex-speaker of the state assembly, and now the minority leader, stressing that the experience he had garnered all over the years kept excelling him in politics

He, however, called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and also appealed to those who have not benefited to exercise patience.

The program was well attended by APC leaders, honorable members, stakeholders, party executives, and a host of others.
