‘Maintain peace even in provocation’, Oyo ACOMORAN charges member

Ibadan – A call has gone to all members of ACOMORAN in Oyo state to always maintain peace and bear in mind that any act of violence will be taken up by the law.

The Chairman, Comrade Solomon Olugbode gave the stern call in a press statement in Ibadan.

This followed the prosecution of two motorcycle riders, Bimbo Ouediran and Mudashiru Akeem for breaching the peace by the Chief Magistrate O.K Omotosho at the Magistrate Court, Omi Adio.

The judgment delivered on the 6th of April, 2022, found the accused guilty of five-count charges, including assault, unlawful seizure of a Bajaj Motorcycle, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The accused were sentenced to 6months in prison and an option of 20,000 naira fine and 6months in prison and an option of 50,000 naira fine.

The two sentences are to run concurrently.

Comrade Olugbode, therefore, warned all bona fide members of ACOMoRAN in Oyo state to keep the peace and learn to stay calm in the face of provocation assuring them that the union will always deploy the instrument of law in their defense.
