Ibadan – The Member of House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has inspected the ongoing Kajola-Irede-Odinjo-Alake Road Project.
The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of House Committee on Narcortic Drugs, during the inspection, expressed satisfaction towards the progress of the project, which was flagged off last month.
While inspecting the project, the lawmaker had a number of stops to critique some parts that require adjustment, most especially the drainages that need to be well-fixed to avoid erosion that can quickly damage the road.
In the same vein, while observing the tour, residents and constituents within the communities, trooped out en masse to welcome Agboworin and thanked him for the execution of the project.
In one of such expressions of appreciation, a member of the opposition party, APC, who also resides in the community, commended the lawmaker, praying that the Almighty Allah will continue to grant him the grace to continually serve the people and communities alike.
“Sir, I must really commend you for this great project. Yes, I am a member of the APC but I cannot look down on a project like this coming from a good man like Agboworin. Sincerely, I am very happy because I know the importance of this road to the community and the state.
“My brother, Agboworin, I just stopped on my way home to thank you for this great job your are doing for this community. Indeed, you are a worthy ambassador of the masses and downtrodden in government. I pray that the relief that would come as a result of this road construction will surely manifest success for you in all your endeavors,” he said
Agboworin said: “I have gone round to inspect the ongoing road construction project and I am happy with the pace at which the contractor is going as well as the quality materials being used to execute the project.
“For me, I can say this is also a way of replicating Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts on infrastructural development in my constituency. I will always ensure I undertake whatever project that is capable of improving the socio-economic activities of my territory.
“The more you stay as a member of House of Representatives, the more you have opportunities to be able to attract so many things that are developmental to your people.
“The more a person gets re-elected into the National Assembly, the more he or she garners experience and contacts for facilitation of development-driven projects to his or her constituency, just the way I have been doing for my people as a ranking Rep Member.
“So, by the grace of God, the work will be completed exactly the time the contractor has promised. I can assure that many will still come for our people to enjoy more dividends of democracy.”
The Project Manager, Usman Olawale, in his brief remark, noted that necessary adjustment observed by the lawmaker would be adjusted as the work persists.
He added that the company would not compromise quality in terms of the materials being used for the construction of the road, assuring that the project would be done perfectly.
