Former Benue First Lady, Yemisi Suswam advocates more efforts at educating the girl child

Ibadan – Former first lady Benue state, Yemisi Suswam has appealed to all stakeholders to put more efforts into achieving quality education for the girl child.

Mrs Suswam spoke with newsmen on the sidelines of the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Federal Government Girls College Oyo.

According to her, Nigeria has done well in the awareness for the importance in educating the girl child but more need to be done.

She called on traditional rulers, religious leaders and government at all levels to double their efforts at ensuring that every girl child in Nigeria is educated.

‘We are coming up, we are not there yet. We still have a lot of grounds to cover. I must commend us for the level of awareness, but we still have pockets of places that must ginger’, she remarked.

Mrs Suswam reminded all that education remains the passport and license to a brighter and greater future.

While paying glowing tributes to the Teachers and students of the FGGC Oyo, Mrs Suswam recalled find memories shared in the school noting that the experiences they gathered prepare them for the future
