Ibadan – The political calculation ahead of the next electoral contest in Oyo State may be taking a fresh turn as the return of a prominent Ibarapa politician to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been described as a significant development for the party’s mobilisation efforts.
A chieftain of the APC in Oyo State and respected Ibadan Mogaji, Chief Abass Oloko, made the assertion in a statement personally signed and issued from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and made available to newsmen in Nigeria, where he welcomed the return of Dr. Olusola Ayandele, popularly known as Eruobodo, to the party.
Oloko described Ayandele as a popular politician and respected leader in Ibarapaland and Oyo State, stressing that his return to the APC would strengthen the party ahead of the forthcoming electoral contest.
According to him, Ayandele’s political experience and grassroots connections would be valuable to the APC as it mobilises support for its candidates.
“Dr Olusola Ayandele is a popular politician and a respected leader in Ibarapaland and Oyo State. His return to the APC is a welcome development, and I believe we can work together towards achieving our political objectives,” Oloko said.
He said the party would work with Ayandele and other stakeholders to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu, Sharafadeen Alli and other APC’s candidates across Oyo South.
“We will work together to deliver President Bola Tinubu, Sharafadeen Alli, our senatorial candidate in Oyo South, Aderemi Oseni, and our candidates for the House of Representatives. This is a collective responsibility that requires the commitment of all our members and stakeholders,” he added.
Oloko urged APC members and supporters across the state to close ranks and work collectively towards the party’s objectives ahead of the elections.
He maintained that Ayandele’s return would add to the party’s mobilisation efforts, particularly in Ibarapaland, as the APC prepares for the forthcoming elections.
