The Mogaji Oloyooyo of Idikan Ibadan, Chief Barrister Babatunde John Soares has congratulated the people of Ibadan and the newly confirmed Olubadan, Senator Dr. Moshood Lekan Balogun, following the approval of the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.
Gov Makinde on Monday approved the appointment of Senator Lekan Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan land after the recommendation by the Olubadan in council following the demise of late Oba Saliu Adetunji on January 2nd, 2022.
Chief Soares who is the former Chairman, governing council, College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, also lauded the efforts of all stakeholders in ensuring that the age-long tradition of Ibadan land was upheld in the ascendancy to the Olubadan stool.
The UK-trained Financial Consultant believes that the Olubadan designate has over the years been prepared for the exalted throne and will by every means beautify the throne even more.
‘Senator Lekan Balogun is by no means a man of small stature in tradition. I believe he is prepared for this and he will beautify the throne more.’ Chief Soares stated
‘His wealth of experience as a businessman, a politician, and a High Chief will definitely come in handy now that he is the Olubadan.’
Chief Soares prayed that the reign of the newly confirmed Monarch will be filled with blessings and prosperity for the land and its people and indeed, Oyo state in general while also praying for long life and good health for the new Monarch to fulfill his dreams and ambitions on the throne of his forefathers
