Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka on Tuesday received his certificate of return as the Oyo Central Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, charging the party leadership in Oyo Central not to rest on their oars as there is much work to be done ahead of the coming elections.
While calling for a united front from party members, Ilaka described the outcome of the primary as a family affair where we are all winners.
Ilaka praised fellow contestants noting that “ ” I have huge respect for my fellow contestants, for the high-level maturity displayed during and after the Primary, I thank you all” he however requested their support and that of the party faithful he said ” We must unite and work extremely hard for every single vote in Oyo Central, there is so much to be done. And there is very little time, So let’s roll up our sleeves”. He said further “A victory at the poll in 2023 is not just for Ilaka but the PDP”
The Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom emphasized the need for unity in the PDP and reiterated his commitment to do all necessary to ensure the party triumphs in the 2023 elections.
Ilaka urged party members and leaders in Oyo Central Senatorial zone “To pull everyone together. Nobody should be excluded, as the task before us requires all hands to be on deck”
The former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde said he will continue to work towards Oyo Central having a better representation at the Red Chamber.
While thanking the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the state Party Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro, and members of the state Excos for their support, he also commended the Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi and members of his exco. He also extended his appreciation to all executive Chairmen in the eleven local governments that made up Oyo Central and the party leaders
Ilaka concluded by expressing his deep and sincere gratitude to everyone who had worked with him and the Party “I am honored and humbled to receive this Certificate of Return having emerged as our party’s candidate, I Pledge to do all within my reach to ensure that our party comes up victorious, so as to provide quality representation to the good people of Oyo Central. With your support, I look forward to also receiving the certificate of return from INEC in 2023
