Ibadan – The Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development, OYMASED has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Junior Chamber International (JCI) on programmes that will empower youths to be productive and create a prosperous society.
The Director General of the Agency, Dr Morohunkola Thomas stated this while receiving the Junior Chamber Internationa(JCI) members who were on a courtesy call to the OYMASED office at Bodija, Ibadan.
Dr Morohunkola Thomas also called on youths to embrace hardwork rather than shortcuts to success.
The OYMASED DG stated further that the core values of the Yoruba people should be preserved while indiscipline should not be condoned.
He added that belief in integrity, respect for elders should be upheld by youths as they are the emerging leaders.
Responding,the Junior Chambers International National President, Oluwatoyin Atanda said JCI is a non governmental organization which empowers people to make positive changes and also transform leaders into outstanding ones .
The JCI National President noted that the organization recently launched International Human Duties Day which is aimed at recognizing and fulfilling our duties for a better world.
According to her, Human Duties Day is celebrated to strengthen global solidarity and cooperation, Foster a culture of responsibility and accountability, Empower individuals and communities to drive positive change as well as Promote sustainable development and human well-being.
Also speaking, the JCI Executive Vice President South West, Akinbode Abitogun stated that the Organization’s visit is aimed at collaborating with the Agency on developing young leaders in impacting the society.
He added that the mission of the Agency is in tandem with the duties of a leader which are: Preserving life, Serving Humanity,sustaining the future, pursuing prosperity, respect for each other, educating and teaching others as well as leading responsibly.
