Ibadan – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyo State, wishes to inform the general public that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially commence in the state as follows:
Online Pre-Registration: Beginning Monday, 18th August, 2025, eligible citizens can carry out pre-registration through the INEC portal at www.cvr.inecnigeria.org or www.cvr.inec.gov.ng.
In-Person Registration: Commences on Monday, 25th August, 2025 at all INEC Local Government Area Offices and the INEC State Office.
Eligibility for Registration
The CVR exercise is open to the following categories of persons:
Nigerian citizens who have attained the age of 18 years and above and have never registered before.
Registered voters who wish to transfer their voting locations from one place to another.
Registered voters who have had defaced or lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and require replacement.
Registered voters who need to correct their personal information on the voter register.
Individuals who have registered before but whose name did not appear on the Voters’ Register.
The Commission strongly advises all registrants against engaging in multiple registration.
INEC has deployed the Automatic Biometric Identification System (ABIS), a robust technology designed to detect and eliminate multiple registrations from the system.
Any individual found guilty of engaging in multiple registration will face the full consequences of the law.
