…close to 66,951 Nigerians completed pre-online registration within the first week of resumption in Oyo state
Ibadan – The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC), Oyo State Chapter has commended the citizens of the state for their immediate response to the continuous voters registration exercise.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC, Oyo state chapter, Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella gave the commendation during the media briefing at the flag off ceremonies of the sensitization activities for the continuous voter registration exercise held at the INEC collation centre, Agodi, Ibadan.
According to him close to 66,951 Nigerians completed pre-online registration within the first week of resumption in Oyo state which began on the the 18th of August 2025, adding that it is a clear indication that Nigerians remain eager to participate in democratic process.
The timetable for the registration and display of voter registration, was disclosed at the event, with the phase 1 Registration of voters which begun on the 18th of August set to end on the 10th of December 2025, the display of the register for claims and objections will run from the 15th of December till the 21st of December 2025.
Phase 2 registration of voters will begin on the 5th of January 2026 and end on the 17th April 2026, display of register for claims and objections will run from the 20th till the 26th of April 2026, Phase 3 registration of voters will also run from 4th May to the 17th of August 2026, while the Display of register for claims and objections will run from the 24th till the 30th August 2026.
Tella also charged members of the press to be a veritable channel for disseminating accurate information about the CVR process and to set the agenda for democratic participation through their editorials, reports and programmes.
