Ibadan – Insurgency: Presidency rejects Obasanjo’s call for foreign help
The Presidency on Sunday rejected suggestions that Nigeria should hand over its internal security to foreign governments, describing such calls as capitulation.
In a rebuttal aimed at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, it defended President Bola Tinubu’s strategies against terrorism, saying they are yielding results.
In a post on his official X handle on Sunday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communication, Sunday Dare, said attempts to portray the Tinubu administration as unable to protect Nigerians were ignoble, insisting that the country is confronting real terrorists.
Insecurity: Apologize to victimised communities — Pastor Bakare tells Tinubu
The Lead Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, has called on President Bola Tinubu to tender a public apology to communities devastated by insecurity.
Bakare made this call on Sunday during his State of the Nation Address in Lagos.
According to him, the gesture would mark a commitment to justice and national healing.
He acknowledged that the president had taken initial steps to address the crisis but insisted that deeper action was required to restore confidence.

Kogi: Bandits abduct pastor, wife, other worshippers
Armed bandits on Sunday attacked a church service in Ejiba, a community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting several worshippers.

The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has narrated a frightful experience he encountered in the hands of some Muslim people he sheltered and fed.
In a video with Equipping the Persecuted shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rev Dachomo, narrated how he took compassion on some stranded Muslims and provided accommodation and food for them, but they turned around to pay him back in the most horrendous manner by killing his grandmother, removed her heart.
He alleged that the family also committed all sorts of atrocious acts despite his kindness to them.
Atiku demands probe of N17.5tn pipeline security spending
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu for spending N17.5tn on pipeline security and related expenditures in a single year, demanding a probe of what he described as a financial scandal and “a moral indictment on the Tinubu administration”.
In a statement issued by the Atiku Media Office on Sunday, the former Vice President noted that the expenditure exceeds 12 years of Nigeria’s fuel subsidy, arguing that it primarily benefits the President’s associates and political allies.
Dangote refinery pledges 50m litres daily petrol supply from December
Dangote Refinery has pledged to supply Nigeria’s domestic petrol requirements with 1.5 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit monthly — about 50 million litres per day — beginning December 2025.
The company said the volume would be increased to 1.7 billion litres per month, translating to 57 million litres daily, from February 2026.
This was contained in a letter addressed to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority and signed by the refinery’s Chief Executive Officer, David Bird, dated November 30, 2025.
Ramaphosa labels US attacks on S.Africa ‘misinformation’
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa accused the United States late on Sunday of peddling “blatant misinformation” by claiming his country was killing white people.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked South Africa since returning to the White House earlier this year, pointing to false claims of “white genocide” of Afrikaners, a minority population descended from European colonisers.
