Ibadan – In furtherance of the ongoing discussion on the 5th Industrial Revolution and the Built Industry, The Landlords (Radio Edition) engaged two seasoned professionals — Town Planner Segun Eweoya and Town Planner Dr. Alex Sewo, an Academic.
Speaking on the emergence of the Gen Z workforce, Dr. Sewo emphasized that the older generation must learn to adapt and key into new technological trends to avoid what he described as the “incessant clash of culture” between the old and the new.
On his part, Town Planner Segun Eweoya, a past Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Oyo State Chapter, noted that while technology continues to advance, the provision of some basic human needs cannot become virtual.
He stressed the importance of sustaining human input in processes such as certification and regulatory oversight.
Both experts agreed that as societies look toward the future, the physical planning of states remains crucial in laying the right infrastructure. According to them, this is the foundation for achieving truly smart and sustainable cities.
